Before Picture – Kitchen Remodel Olympia
The minute I stepped foot into this old house for a kitchen remodel in Olympia, I knew it was going to turn into a great project to share with all of you.
My clients just moved to the great city of Olympia, WA in the Greater Seattle Area and found a beautiful home with an even better location. The only thing missing was a Kitchen that would represent the family’s story.
Kitchen Design
To get started, I’ve invited my clients to the local Showroom in Yelm, WA. The Idea for the Kitchen was to have a bright room, to invite new found friends and family. The Design came together relatively quick, as the lady of the house knew exactly that she wanted light Shaker Cabinets. We’ve agreed on painted Shaker Cabinets by Bellmont in paint color Arabesque. To compromise between her and her husband taste, we’ve also added an Alder stained Island as center piece and added contrast. Next step countertops. Everybody agreed on a beautiful marble like Quartz Countertop by Pental called Misterio. To give this Kitchen the pop it deserves, topped off the design with a glass Subway tile by United Tile. The glass tile will beautifully reflect the under-cabinet lighting we’ve installed, for added warmth into the space.
Kitchen Demo
The Design part of the Kitchen Remodel Olympia was completed. It was time to begin the demo. First, we needed to take down the wall on the right side of the kitchen to open up the space. Not a problem at all, with our in-house crew, we can take care of complete projects, no matter if big or small. Next, dispose of cabinets, countertops, old trim and floor. A general rule to keep the cost down on a kitchen remodel is to keep existing water lines / gas lines in place, but my clients wanted their own kitchen that fit their needs of daily life. Not a problem, after moving waterlines and electrical, we can finish up with drywall repairs and we were ready for the cabinets.
When planning a kitchen remodel, keep in mind that you’ll most likely be waiting for your cabinets the longest. In this case it was a 6 week wait for production to finish our cabinets. Not out of the norm.
Kitchen Install
When your cabinets finally arrive, the rest will arrive and install rather quickly.Probably the best part of the project is when my clients start to see their design come together.
Our crew did an amazing job installing everything and my clients as well as myself are absolutely in love with the outcome.
