Manu and Rika Shah started MSI in 1975 in their basement in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to help Mrs. Shah work from home during her pregnancy and generate additional income for their family. During this time Mr. Shah continued to work full-time as a medical engineer. In 1981, while still operating out of their basement, the Shahs acquired the contract to supply the black granite for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. With their entire savings invested in this project, they spent endless nights making sure the project was executed perfectly, and it was!  

Following this success, the Shahs moved to southern California in 1984 and have since been the leading nationwide distributor of flooring, countertop, wall tile, and hardscaping products in North America. MSI is now Headquartered in Orange, California and maintains over 45 state-of-the-art showrooms and distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, with domestic manufacturing facilities for Q™ Premium Natural Quartz in South Carolina, and Premium LVT in Georgia.
